Days, Months, and Seasons

Learning About Days, Months, and Seasons

Time is not just about reading clocks! We also measure time using days, months, and seasons. Let's learn the names and order of each so you can track time like a pro.

Days of the Week

There are 77 days in a week. They always repeat in the exact same order:

  1. Sunday
  2. Monday
  3. Tuesday
  4. Wednesday
  5. Thursday
  6. Friday
  7. Saturday

Example: What day comes after Wednesday? If you look at the list above, the day right after Wednesday is Thursday.

Months of the Year

A full year is much longer than a week. There are 1212 months in a year. Here they are in order from the beginning of the year to the end:

  1. January
  2. February
  3. March
  4. April
  5. May
  6. June
  7. July
  8. August
  9. September
  10. October
  11. November
  12. December

Example: How many months are in a year? If you count them all up, there are exactly 1212 months in one year!

The Four Seasons

As the months go by, the weather changes. We call these changes seasons. There are 44 seasons in a year, and they happen in a cycle:

  • Spring: The weather gets warmer, and flowers start to bloom.
  • Summer: The hottest time of the year!
  • Fall (Autumn): The weather cools down, and leaves fall from the trees.
  • Winter: The coldest time of the year. It might even snow!

Example: What season comes after winter? After the cold winter ends, the cycle starts all over again, so Spring comes next!
